Building Division

DUTIES OF THE DIVISION

The Teller County Building Division is responsible for regulating building activities to ensure that residential and commercial structures comply with applicable codes. The Building Division issues Permits and Inspects all land/property located within unincorporated Teller County.

Woodland Park , Cripple Creek and Victor all have their own Building Departments for issuing permits/performing inspections within their jurisdictions.

The Board of Review assists the Building Division by issuing Contractor Licenses, reviewing complaints against contractors, considering requests for variances to the International Building Code, and mediating disputes between contractors, citizens, and the Building Division. The Board of Review, which is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, is comprised of nine volunteers from the local construction industry.
